EDU-976: Music and Social Change in America: Colonial to the Present

Music has played a key role in social change throughout America's history. Students will learn about the influence of music on social change including US conflicts, the rise of Women Suffrage, political movements. The course will move from the pre-colonial period and the music of immigrants to the modern conflicts of the Gulf War. This course will enrich history lessons as well as provide a forum of discussion on the current political and societal landscape and the influence of music.

I have established plans to arrange several collections and albums for solo harp based on the artistic works of Kevin Kern, John Tesh, Suzanne Ciani, Jim Brickman, Tim Janis, and several different contemporary Christian artists, including, Steven Curtis Chapman, Mercy Me, Casting Crowns, and Amy Grant. Be sure to sign up for announcements on when these collections and recordings will become available.
